Here’s a fascinating piece of classical guitar history that doesn’t surface in collections nearly often enough. Los Indios Tabajaras, the Brazilian brother duo of Natalicio and Antenor Lima, carved out a unique niche in the early 1970s by bringing their indigenous-influenced fingerpicking style to classical repertoire. This 1974 RCA Victor release showcases their remarkable ability to transform familiar classical pieces through their distinctly South American lens, creating something that sits beautifully between worlds – neither purely classical nor strictly folk, but entirely captivating.
