Released in 1973, Mott is the sixth studio album by British rock band Mott the Hoople. Following the success of All the Young Dudes (1972), the album showcases the band’s signature blend of glam rock, hard rock, and thoughtful lyricism. Featuring standout tracks like “All the Way from Memphis”, “Whizz Kid”, and “I Wish I Was Your Mother”, the album explores themes of fame, disillusionment, and rock ‘n’ roll excess. Frontman Ian Hunters introspective songwriting and the band’s powerful instrumentation make Mott one of their most critically acclaimed releases. The album solidified Mott the Hooples place in rock history, influencing future generations of artists. With its mix of anthemic rockers and reflective ballads, Mott remains a defining album of the glam rock era and a must-listen for fans of classic rock. Mott is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on pink coloured vinyl.
